340- Book -PTSD therapy & victims of violence (Ochberg) (6)

The fourth and final section of this book is called The crime victims' movement and support services for victims.  It runs pages 315-351, which I'll detail further down.

I read them, even though in my own case, there were no arrests done, and that am in France, with a very different legal system, and that by now, I couldn't even press charges due to statute of limitations, which is the equivalent of expiration date, in legal terms, of when a person can press charges against a person for criminal procedures.

Nonetheless, I found this reading interesting.

339- Book -PTSD therapy & victims of violence (Ochberg) (5)

Chapters 11-14 comprise this book's Section III - The victims of war and atrocity.
As usual, Ochberg presents this section and its authors, P.225-226.

As always, trigger warnings apply to all chapters of this book, with more or less emphasis and dependant on personal trigger factors.

338- Victimization, trauma and therapeutic choices

*very slight trigger warnings apply here, but more so in the links*

Upon reading Yael Danieli's chapter (13th in PTSD therapy), I finally understand how to word my therapeutic choices and refusals, based on the issues of trust, victimization and betrayals that I experienced.

337- Daily Impacts - Avoidance

When Jodie invited me to participate in her What it feels like series, I had given her a 200-word text about my emetophobia, and had planed a small series of my own, but never thought I'd be at part 8,  4 months later!

Part 1 for my complex-emetophobia was in post 280.  Daily Impacts's newest chapter's about Avoidance.

336- B12 and DFSP updates

If you recall from 2 previous entries, I had B12 deficiencies, which had the nasty but logical side effects of worsening my battles against depression (at least according to some sources, though the role isn't fully known), and pernicious anemia. Last summer, I had such a severe low B12 level (under 50 units) that my anemia and battles were horrendous, causing me to stay at home due to both depression and lack of energy (anemia induces). I hadn't gone hiking or to breath fresh air often enough, and so, my supplementation was daily, for 2 months.

335- Valentine's day, or why I don't celebrate it

Image comes from Gratisography, found on pexels, a website for copyright free images.
I added the text.

Today's a day many people celebrate love through the cultural celebration called Valentine's day. I don't ever celebrate it, and I wanted to say both why, and what I used to do when alone, or what we do as a couple, with my wife.

334- Growing up and Living in a religious cult 2

I previously stated that growing up and living in a religious cult was an isolating experience. I explained some portions of this indoctrinated lifestyle, and I'll continue today. As usual, trigger warnings apply.

333- 2 years and Katie C's MH Q&A

Today's the 2-year anniversary of this mental health blog. Indeed

I published my very first blog posts precisely 2 years ago, at this very hour and minute, and so I thought to mix-in two things into one post :

The anniversary, augmented by a Q&A.

332- Book -PTSD therapy & victims of violence (Ochberg) (4)

This blog entry still relates to the book's second section, entitled The Victim of a violent crime.
In view of the content of chapters 6-8, I had opted to split this section so those who didn't wish to read about their difficult aspects could skip straight to this one.

However, the next two chapters both contain their own type of possible trigger warnings

331- #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek

Trigger warnings - especially for the external links.

Grab a cuppa, after the mark it’ll be 1,535 words.

As I'm middle-aged and chose not to have children, I hadn’t planed posting anything about this week’s awareness topic : #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek which is ran by UK-based charity,
Place2Be

However, a tweet exchange with Andrea Wade changed my mind and inspired this present entry.

For 2018's edition, spanning Feb 5-11th is about promoting children, young people and adults to celebrate their uniqueness - which I read between the lines as "despite mental health issues".  For this year's #BeingOurselves, I'd direct you to my post about embracing my uniqueness

330- Health updates 2018 (1)

I start, what I hope, a new monthly series, discussing updates about my health this year, though I will post whenever needed.

Both mental and physical, as they can often be linked.

329- #timetotalkday 2018

Throughout this blog, I mention the word support, in as many as 90 other entries, but I never discussed the topic fully.
