290 - Men & mental health project, part 2

The projects announced in post 285 are taking form as the days pass. I discussed questions to ask with my wife and , thus far, the first project is on hold as I haven't found collaborators yet and am still in the process of searching for men who could participate; the second through forth projects will take time to gather as they are surveys, and i'll detail everything here after.

First, I want to do a collaborative post with these points :
  1. Presentation
  2. Mental illnesses
  3. Stigma faced
  4. Passionate campaigning
Then, we will gather answers for surveys, and should have, hopefully, several posts for some or all of these questions

For the first survey, I will ask both men and women the following questions :
  1. How the men in your lives responded to your mental illness ; have they faced stigma from men and have the men been supportive or not when the women have gone to treatment for their problems.
  2. Were the men around willing to discuss & learn about your mental health issues / treatment or not?
  3. How are your relationships with other men different once those men become aware of your mental illness?
Specific questions, for a second survey :
  1. (4) Men, have you had issues in being abandoned/ostracized by friends/colleagues/family once they learned about your mental illness?
  2. (5) For non-binary/LGBTQa+, do you face specific stigma?
  3. (6) For women, how do you perceive men's mental illness and stigma?

A third will be for middle-aged people with mental illness/es :
  1. (7) Do we find out age (for the middle-aged of us) an asset, a hindrance, or a mix, and how so?
  2. (8) Do we notice changes in our mental illnesses with the passing of age?
General questions for any of these surveys :
  1. (9) How easy is it for us to get support from family, friends, colleagues ?
  2. (10) Last questions, for all of us, collaborators and surveyed, what need/ can be done and what do you do to end the stigma?
  3. (11) How can we men help other men to talk openly and seek help for mental health problems?
Thank you for reading.

If you want to participate, you can

either comment here, or
email to lulupetals@mail.com which is my mental health related email address, tell me if you want your name to appear or anonymous; age and your relevant answers.

You can see I numbered 1-11 so you can just reply and not need to copy paste the questions. Answer short or long and In the next post, I shall answer these questions myself, so you can see the kind of material I'm searching for.

I hope to find collaborators to answer them as well, and then gather them from male, female and any other non-binary friends.
